For Respondents, they can avoid an uncomfortable and lengthy hearing process. The citation procedure is a confidential process. The Respondent has the choice to use the process or continue with a full hearing.
For Complainants, there is less time involved, and process upholds the integrity of the Code of Ethics process and assists in protecting the industry from unethical behavior. If Respondent choices to have a hearing, the Complainant will need to attend.
